It's a chain... The execution of the dish by the kitchen determines if the outcome is good. This establishment prepares ribs perfectly. Moist and meaty. The kitchen cannot prepare shrimp. The bacon wrapped shrimp was served with raw bacon and shrimp that was cold. Our server once our food came disappeared until she brought the bill. The manager came over to ask about the food and looked shocked we said the shrimp was cold and it wasn't going to get eaten. 4 of 8/50% and $16.00. The manager offered to recook the shrimp but was told" no". As he was walking away we told him the least he can do is remove the remaining shrimp off the bill. A great manager would have apologized and comped the meal.. Not charge $6.95... Guess he's not a great manager. 4 stars for the ribs minus 2 stars for the shrimp and attitude equals 2 stars....no happy happy tastebuds .. But the Maryhill Chardonnay was excellent!! My suggestion about this place: eat ribs and drink wine.

I have been here twice. The food was pretty decent the first time, however this last time it wasn't up to standard at all. $13 was a little steep for a chicken breast speed in marginal BBQ sauce. I could have made the same thing at home for a fraction of the cost. With that being said, the food did come very quickly and staff was friendly. But there was nothing that made it stand out enough for me to return.

This is our first time coming here... We have always talked about it but due to its terrible location under the freeway (just about as under as Idaho building standards will allow) we always ended up going to Texas Roadhouse instead. Wendy, our server, knew her stuff and basically planned our meal for us. The rules were simple, "Blow our minds, Wendy." We asked. For my wife - the Outback signature top sirloin cooked medium with the seasoning with the garlic mashed potatoes. For me - 13oz Ribeye cooked wood-fire and RARE with sweet potato and honey butter. #mindblown Yeah, it was worth the hashtag. Just because we were on a roll, and Wendy knew we were, she easily swayed us to et the Thunder From Down Under Chocolate Brownie thing which made our daughter flip out of her gourd. For a Friday night the service was quick, not a single flaw with our orders, and the price was fair!

Staff was somewhat slow despite few customers (water not refilled and did not check back to see if we needed anything). Food was adequate, but two buger a were not properly prepared (maybe patties of medium and medium-well were Improperly switched). Skillet apple pie was excellent. Will be a while before we will return.

The service was friendly and prompt. However, I ordered the steak with the lobster plate. The steak was delicious but the lobster was disappointing. The lobster is not worth the price!

WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER!!! My husband our son and I enter and are seated. Waiter comes 10 mins later gets drinks and we order appetizers and our food. After 45 minutes STILL NO APPETIZERS Waiter comes 10 minutes later and asks if we got them, I say no. After another 10 minutes a table that was seated 20 minutes after us get theirs AND THEY ARE THE SAME ONES WE ORDERED!! The waiter apologizes says our food ticket is lost and will get them in ASAP! 15 minutes later (now well over an hour since we order them) we finally get them 15 minutes after eating them the waiter comes and says they have no Porterhouse and they ran out of them the day before. Would have been nice if we were told this when we ordered! Now it is almost 2 hours and obviously they haven't started our dinners if they're just finding out they don't have the steak my husband ordered. Also, throughout this time the waiter was very inattentive, no drink refills, 20 minutes for bread etc. He was more focused on a party of 8 that was seated 20 minutes after us! We went there to celebrate out son's 20yr birthday, which never happened! And to boot, my husband is DIABETIC and already took his insulin when all this was occurring!! This WAS one of my favorite restaurants and I could not believe we were even charged, no less a discount! We were barely even apologized to! Oh, and it took another 15 minutes to get a to-go box, as I was so upset, I did not even eat my meal! Took it home and my dogs barely ate it! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!OUR BILL TOTAL WAS $104.96 TOTAL TIME SPENT WAS ALMOST THREE HOURS!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE MANAGER AND HORRIBLE WAITER!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

Although the location is not ideal, right next to the freeway entrance, I had a good overall experience. Our waitress, young and probably still trainee, was absolutely nice and helpful. The food was excellent, angus sirloin steak just crazy. If you are lost in Idaho Falls, it is a good spot to have nice lunch.

The food isn't terrible, but it's certainly a long shot from great. The atmosphere is VERY unappetizing, as I could get whiffs of a septic tank periodically through the meal, not to mention the fact that there was dirt and dust caked onto the emergency sprinkler system hanging from above our table. The combination of these factors and the horrible location make this a pretty crummy restaurant. It's too bad, since Idaho Falls really doesn't have a lot of quality restaurants, and the familiar chains that it does have are a far fetch from what they could or should be. Eat somewhere else.

This is the only Outback I will go to. It's about 200 miles from my home, and there's one about 2 miles from home, so that should tell you something. The service is beyond great, always. The food is also beyond great, always. It's a chain, but a decent one, and the best rendition of this chain probably ever. It's a regular stop on my Idaho Falls adventures... convenient to hotels and the freeway.

I've been hearing how this chain has really good steak for a while and since there was one right next to our hotel, we decided to come here for dinner. Their blooming onion appetizer was as good as I've been told and it was also beautiful to look at. I had the 8oz prime rib with lobster and mushroom topping. The topping was excessive, I think the prime rib would have been a lot better without the extra topping. Overall, I have a pretty good opinion of this chain.

I love the national advertising then when we arrive at the Idaho Falls location they don't honor the national promotions! It's always $3 to $6 more for the same exact thing. Then you spend $18 on a piece of chicken and they want another $4 for a salad... Really? $3 more to add something on a baked potato? Good hell, it's Idaho, the spuds are cheap!! Overall the food is ok and the staff was friendly enough. For the price there are better options in town that do honor national ads!

Yuck. Not the food, the staff. The bar tender dude and the other girls seemed to be ok with making this restaurant their own social event. The bar tender found it ok to sing loudly to every single song on the ridiculously loud stereo that was playing horrible pop music. He then ignored us, making it do we had to order appetizers and entres at the same time. Very unprofessional. The girl who brought the food out was great and very courteous. Must not have had a manager on duty........ Hopefully....... Ps. If you didn't pick up on it, you're bar tender sucks.
Very disappointed in the Outback. Steak was EXTREMELY tough and honestly just didn't taste good. Will not return. A disappointing $70 meal. I do not recommend.

Worst Outback I have ever been to. We went in on a Monday evening, it was close to where we were staying and figured it was a safe bet. There weren't a lot of customers, so there is not excuse for the service we received. We were sat quickly, but it took a while for our drink order to be taken and we weren't served bread, that all Outbacks serve. When we ordered, my step dad ordered a bowl of soup and my kids ordered the sirloin medallions-medium rare. When our food came out, we were served half of a cup of soup and the kid's medallions were well done and tough because they were over cooked. We sent the soup back and asked for the bowl of soup that was ordered. It took the longest time to get the soup back. After waiting for a while, we asked what the hold up was. And one server in a snotty tone told us that they were heating the soup and it can't happen immediately. Well it doesn't take 20 minutes either. Then another server told us they ran out and had to remake it. And the initial soup we received was the bottom of the pot. So....is that why they tried to pass half a cup of soup off as an entire bowl? We were never offered refills on our drinks and only after asking for bread were we given any. The response, "Oh we usually do that...." DUH! I don't recommend this location at all.

I took my son here for his birthday and I wasnt impressed at all. Both my son and I thought the potatoes were left over from the day before. If they wern't they were the worst baked potatoes ever. The service was marginal at best, they kept forgeting to bring us items that we had ordered and when they did they brought the wrong things. This used to be my favorite resturant but I dont think Ill be going back to this one.

Both the wine and the prime rib I ordered, they were out of. The filet mignon though was juicy and well seasoned. The ahi appetizer was pre-seared, if that's even a word. I ordered a 6 oz and was served a 9 oz. The food was tasty but clearly there were order issues.

We received an Outback gift card for Christmas, so we decided to use it for date night. We were seated, then waited 15 minutes at our table for our server to acknowledge us. Another server had to track him down and tell him to come take care of us. It was weird. The ambiance was like that of every other Outback Steakhouse on the planet, except we were seated next to a dude named "Jeff", who was holding a very loud conversation about what a whore his ex-wife is. I realize that this was not the restaurant's fault, but I wish that "Jeff" had a Yelp presence so could review his awful etiquette. Our server was super aware that he had gotten off on the wrong foot with us, and compounded it by not bringing us bread, disappearing with our cups when we asked for refills, and making us wait 20 minutes for our check. We decided to spend the entire gift card in one visit so that we wouldn't have to return. That said, the $29.99 20 oz ribeye was as good as to you would expect a thirty dollar piece of meat to be. We got 2. And the leftovers were great in scrambled eggs the next morning.

An empty Outback on a Saturday night should have been our first sign that this place wasn't that good. But we were staying at a nearby hotel and we were hungry. The waiter was either new or an idiot. When one of us ordered a bourbon and water, he stared at us like he was dumbfounded. After giving our orders, he came back to ask one of us what kind of shrimp we had ordered. Really was just a bumbling mess. Food wasn't up to par. Ordered a Coors light and it did not taste like a Coors light. How do you screw up a beer? This place is not a good example of Outback Steakhouses that I have been too.

This was my first visit to this location, and my last. In all fairness, the food was fine and on par with all the other Outback locations I have visited. Service was just average. What seemed odd and why I am rating this as three starts is as follows. I encouraged our friends to go to Outback since it was Happy Hour. I am used to Outback having a great appetizer/drink specials. Upon entering, I asked if there was a Happy Hour. I was informed, every day is Happy Hour (which is what I am used to). Upon being seated, it took quite a while for the waiter to show up. When he did, I asked for the Happy Hour specials. He informed me they do not have Happy Hour and only have the "bar bites" food special. I thought this was odd and he was possibly wrong. Nope, the manager arrived and told me the same. They are a franchise and do not have Happy Hour. Again, in an effort for full disclosure, he did ask me what I would like and that he would accommodate me (i.e. what H.H. special did I want) but I declined. Really, that made me feel a little uncomfortable and it shouldn't be up to me to tell the manager how much he should charge me for a drink. So, if you are looking for a regular Outback meal, you will be fine here. If you are looking for what you are used to at other Outbacks regarding Happy Hour, it's not here.

POSITIVES: I've been to Outback Steakhouse in UT and CA. This location was great. Our waitress was decent and stayed on top of bringing us bread and filling our drinks. We got our food very quickly. The portions were filling. I had the sirloin and my wife had the Parmesan Chicken. They were both awesome. Oh, and we always get the Aussie Cheese Fries with Spicy Ranch because it is AMAZING! NEGATIVES: They did get our order wrong by bringing out an ice cream instead of the Cheesecake we asked for... and they didn't really do anything after acknowledging it. PRICE: approx $12-18 per person RECOMMENDED: Aussie Cheese Fries (ALWAYS!)

I normally have good experiences at Outback, but not this time at this location. My wife and I stopped here for dinner after driving down from Coeur d'Alene. It was Monday night about 7:15 p.m. The restaurant was only about a third full. We were graciously greeted and the hostess instructed her assistant where to seat us. He showed us to our table, which must have just been cleaned because the seats were still wet. We asked if we could have a table where the seats where dry. Even though there was a number of open booths and tables that were clean and set for service, the assistant seemed absolutely perplexed as what to do. He went to find the hostess, but she had disappeared. Rather than put us at another table, he left us standing in the middle of the dining room while he looked for the hostess. We felt ridiculous as the other diners looked at us wandering what our problem was. Our server was prompt and took our order. My wife only had soup and salad, which was brought out quickly and before my entrée. Fifteen minutes later, the server stopped by to ask if everything was satisfactory. My wife said she was fine, but was wandering my order was. He said it would be right out. Another fifteen minutes goes by, my wife has finished her meal, when our server brings my food. He apologizes; "new kid in the kitchen". I instruct him to box it for takeout. He brings the box and a check. No comp or discount for the pathetic service. When we arrived a few minutes later at our relatives...well, you can only imagine the limp fries and lukewarm fish. I won't be stopping here again.
